IIFC Best Paper Awards Mar. 2004 The International Institute for FRP in Construction (IIFC) will be awarding "Best Paper Awards" consisting of a certificate and a cash prize of 200$US for papers presented at the 2nd CICE Conference to be held in Adelaide Australia 8-10 December 2004. Four awards will be presented; one in each of the following categories: a. Best Research Paper on FRP Strengthening, Repair or Retrofitting (includes structural, material, or implementation aspects), b. Best Research Paper on FRP for New Structures (includes FRP reinforcements, stand-alone FRP structures or hybrids), c. Best Application Paper for use of FRP materials in a completed engineering project (includes retrofit, new construction, or FRP monitoring system), d. Best Paper on FRP by Young Authors (all paper authors must be under age 35 as of 8 December 2004). Paper authors are required to designate the award category for which they wish to be considered when they submit their papers. Awards will only be given in a category if 10 or more papers are received in that category. The Awards Committee, who will not be eligible for awards, will consist of 5 members: The awards committee chair, 2 executive committee members and 2 IIFC Fellows. The Awards Committee will be appointed by the IIFC president in consultation with the Chair of the Awards Committee. Paper reviews will be conducted by 4 subcommittees one for each of the 4 categories. Each subcommitee will have 4 members and will be chaired by a member of the Awards Committee. Other members will be IIFC council members. Members of the subcommittees (excluding the chairs) will be eligible for awards. The Awards Subcommittees will be appointed by the IIFC president (Prof. J-G. Teng) in consultation with the Chair of the Awards Committee (Prof. L.C. Bank, Vice President IIFC). |
