2nd IIFC Photo Competition |

InstructionsThe main theme of this competition is FRPs for Infrastructure and Civil Engineering. This theme includes, but is not limited to: bridges and decks, highways and building structures, tunnels, pipelines, piers and wharves, chimneys, large-scale energy producing devices and towers for power lines. Structures of interest for this competition may be all-composite, or made primarily of another structural material (such as concrete, wood, steel, or aluminium), however, in the latter case, they must incorporate FRPs with significant structural purpose. FRPs may have been used for reinforcement of a new structure, repair or strengthening of an existing structure, for seismic upgrading, or for any other structural use. For instance, FRPs may be present in the structure in the shape of cables, rods, stirrups, pre-stressing or post-tensioning elements, plates, sheets, or any other innovative form. The photographs may highlight a structure (either in service or in construction), or FRP research aiming at applications in civil infrastructures. Each submissions should include enough relevant information to promote the use of FRPs in future structural engineering applications, as indicated in the instructions. |
